For Autumn/Winter 2016/17 The Wool Lab showcases seven inspirational themes and we have highlighted three of the seven themes, Adrogyne, Normdecor and New Makers.

An inspirational tool, the latest edition of The Wool Lab dedicates four out of seven themes to womenswear, as wool fabrics continue to become increasingly popular outside of traditional mens tailoring.

Menswear is by no means left out, with two themes representing not only the versatility of the fibre but also the breadth of styles available in contemporary menswear.

Cropped & Flared

Happy Monday guys! I hope you all had a nice weekend. I always enjoy a black and white combination. I'm not a frequent crop top wearer but when the occasions come I like to match them with high-waisted garment like a pair of flared jeans and add a leather jacket or blazer over.

See you soon :)

Trend Alert AW15 - Winter Garden

Romantic florals in different shapes and colors are covering everything from shirts to trousers and dresses. Each season they are included but lately they have started to occupy more and more space during the colder months. A little bit darker but oh so beautiful they create a winter garden that lights up. You can find everything from romantic maxidresses (that easily can hang on all year around) to suits that are covered by this eye-catching print. If your not up to going all in I a floral blazer is a good investment that can be matched with pants, dresses and skirts

Happy Sunday!

DESIGN COMPETITION // JOVOTO - WORK IN PROGRESS DESIGN CHALLENGE

The next design challenge has launched over at jovoto.com, where designers like you have the opportunity to win up to €5,000! Read on to find out more.
Work in Progress is the second textile design brief in the Textile Orbit, a carefully curated group of the best textile and pattern designers on jovoto.com. The designers in the Textile Orbit have the opportunity to access this challenge, along with other ongoing exciting textile design challenges.
DESIGN CHALLENGE
The intense smell of the ink is still in the air. Your pencil has just softly touched the paper. Your work is not yet finished, it’s still in progress; that special moment right before your artwork is completed. You can already imagine your final design…it’s almost there!
This is a creative invitation to all textile designers to leave your work in an aesthetically unfinished, incomplete state. Your work in progress is the final result. You are encouraged to leave space in your artwork so it looks perfectly unfinished, even though it’s nearing completion. Your design can combine hand-drawn elements with illustrated details and color highlights. Combine digital elements with sketches. Mash up botanical layers with floral arrangements. Your random splash of color is the DNA that keeps the design interesting and enchanting.
OPPORTUNITIES
This is a calling to all designers who have inspiring ideas for pattern design. The best designs submitted on jovoto will be chosen and presented to select international fashion brands by the client, who is a renowned textile supplier. In addition to winning up to €5,000 in community awards, a huge opportunity awaits, to be licensed by a large fashion brand. For every licensed design, you will be paid €100 for the initial design and an additional €0.20 in royalties for each meter if printed. The amount purchased can be up to 20,000 meters per design.
Show us your best works in progress by entering here!

LBD

An easy way to give a rock-ish vibe to that romantic dress is to add a belt in the waist and match with a pair of ankle boots. Like I mentioned I love mixing mini dresses with ankle boots and its a great way to take your summer dresses into autumn. For chillier nights just add a leather jacket or an oversized blazer.

Happy Friday!

Glad Fredag!

DESIGN COMPETITION // FASHION CROWD CHALLENGE - 2015

The mission of Fashion Crowd Challenge (FCC) is to find and bring talented, hidden fashion stars into the spotlight of the world. To this end, FCC is introducing a new type of fashion design competition. Unlike typical design contests, design submissions in FCC are evaluated by general people and peer designers.

The slogan of FCC is “Time to Think” about fashion. The purpose of our slogan is to empower the fashion-loving layperson to re-think their own senses of style and design, instead of having their opinions handed to them by the fashion industry.

FCC is open and accessible. Anyone, who is over 14 years old, can participate as a fashion designer and as a design judge.

FCC administrates the fashion design competition through its own unique algorithm called Crowd Evaluation System (CES). Founded upon the theory of the collective intelligence or crowd-wisdom, CES selects judges from both the public and peer designers, and manages the evaluation logistics to generate fair, unbiased, and constructive evaluations.

Throughout the course of the competition period, FCC highlights top designers based on the most highly evaluated design work for each day. Those selections will be displayed on the FCC website. After the competition period, FCC will publish the winners and release the full evaluation results as generated by the CES, giving each and every designer valuable feedback. In addition to these features, FCC will support a virtual community where designers can network with their fans in potential markets.

As participation in FCC is free of charge and the potential benefits enormous, this is a no-risk, high-reward opportunity for people of all stripes to participate in the fashion community.

What Designers get…..

INTRODUCE YOUR DESIGNS
FCC supports you and gives you the opportunity to fulfill your dreams by introducing your work to the world and letting you hear what the world has to say.
All the submissions are evaluated fairly and equally.

DEVELOP YOUR DESIGNS
Submitters receive feedback from both the general public and peer designers through our Designer Growth Report. FCC provides a fan community that allows all the participating designers and their global fans to network and grow together.

BECOME A GLOBAL RISING STAR
The FCC provides an opportunity for promising designers to debut in the global arena. The top winners chosen by our panel of judges will be given the opportunity to attend FCC’s Global Fashion Show and have a fashion shoot with international fashion magazines.

In addition, the winners will receive USD 250,000 in financial aid to support their entries in the global design market. FCC will work with both domestic and overseas commerce companies to help the designer market their items.

Turn your dreams into reality!

Patched Suede skirt

There is no secret that the seventies vibe continues into this season. There will be a lot of A-lined skirts in different materials and my favourites are definitely the ones in suede. I can promise you that you will see me in many different versions and all of the from fast-fashion companies such as Zara.

See you soon :)

Syns snart :)

Lace & Pompom

I really like matching short dresses with rougher biker boots. It gives a tougher feeling to the look and it also makes the mini dress or skirt more wearable for day use. I especially like matching white romantic dresses with black boots as I think that they together create the perfect balance of soft and rough.

Happy Midweek!

Glad Onsdag!
