FV contributor, Pattern Curator curates an insightful forecast of mood boards & color stories and we are thrilled to have them on board as our newest FV contributor. DESIGN COMPETITION // EMERGING DESIGNERS

The Accessories Council and Lividini & Co have announced the second annual Emerging Designers Competition to help find and foster the newest talent.

10 finalists will be selected by industry judges and receive a full your mentoring and strategy support from L&Co., the Accessories Council and other partners. The winner will also receive a booth at WWDMAGIC.

APPLICATION DETAILS

Applicants must submit a portfolio which may include lookbooks, product information, whole distribution and a business plan.

The judging panel will consist of a panel of industry experts from the accessories, fashion and retail sectors along with L&Co and The Accessories Council.

The top 10 finalists will be selected by Friday, October 2nd, 2015 and the winner will be announced at the ACE Awards on Monday, November 2, 2015.

CRITERIA

• The company has been in business for less than five years
• The company is ready to expand their business and is looking to strengthen their brand identity, marketing outreach, industry credibility and/or distribution in order to grow the brand
• Your business is primarily based in the United States
• The finalist must be willing to use social media to promote their involvement in the competition
• You may be asked to submit product for review
• You are available for an in-person interview, in October 2015, if you are named one of our finalists

Snake Printed shorts

The animal print continues into the next season. I'm very split in my opinion with these prints. For me it mainly depends on the material the garment, shoe or accessories it's made of because it can have that 'cheap' look to it especially on shiny surfaces. For me the snake print is a lot easier to wear than the leopard. Mainly l because I think it has more edge to it. Anyhow Zara has a line of garments in snake print for the new season and these shorts are my favourites. I love the seventies feel that the rounded buckle on the belt gives and of course a big extra point that they are high-waisted :)

Djurmönstret forsätter att glänsa i säsongen som kommer. Jag är väldigt kluven i min åsikt när de gäller de här mönstren För mig beror det till största delen på vilket material plagget, skorna eller accessoarerna är gjorda av eftersom de kan se 'billiga' ut speciellt på glansiga ytor. Personligen tycker jag att det är mycket enklare att bära reptil trycket. Mestadels för att ja tycker det har mer sting i det.  I vilket fall så har Zara en hel serie av reptil mönstrade plagg den här säsongen och de här shortsen är mina favoriter. Jag älskar 70's känslan som det runda spännet på skärpet ger och såklart ett stort plus att de är höga i midjan :)

Striped Maxi Dress

I can never have to many maxi-dresses. They are great for work, nights out and wearing to the beach. They are what I would call multi-functional and works for all occasions. Except the long length of the dress I really love the low cut back which I have a soft spot for. I think it's feminine and sexy at the same time.

Jag kan aldrig få nog av långa klänningar. Det passar till jobbet, en utekväll och till stranden. Som sagt det fungerar vid alla tillfällen. Förutom den längden på klänningen så föll jag för den fantastisk låga skärningen i ryggen vilket jag är väldigt svag för. Feminin och sexigt på samma gång.

Chic Bohemian

Happy Monday :) As we are approaching autumn I wanted to talk about those summer garments that can easily be converted into an autumn look. I think that this skirt and top are perfect examples of just this. This fluent top fits great to a pair of shorts or a skirt during summer but when the temperatures goes down it will look just as great with jeans, wide trousers or tailored pants. The same goes for the skirt, just add a pair of boots high as low and later on with stockings. Two pieces that works all year round!

Glad Måndag :) Eftersom vi börjar närma oss hösten ville jag prata om plagg som lätt kan hänga med in i vinter garderoben. Den här blusen och kjolen är perfekta exempel av det. Blusen passar perfekt till en kjol eller shorts under sommaren och när temperaturen sjunker kommer den se lika bra ut med ett par jeans, vida-/ el kostymbyxor. Detsamma gäller den här broderade kjolen, det räcker att matcha den med ett par boots, låga som höga, och med strumpbyxor längre fram. Två plagg som fungerar året runt!
