Trend Alert SS15 - Broidery Anglaise

Broidery Anglaise has many decades on its back, more precise its popularity started in the 19th century. At this time it was primary used in underwear and in children's clothes but in 1950's this fabric saw a new light and has continued to be present ever since. For me the fabric screams craftsmanship and has a romantic but at the same time a dramatic and sexy edge to it. The delicate cutwork decorates all kind of garments for spring and I especially love how Erdem (see below) & Valentino has incorporated it in there romantic dresses and Emanuel Ungaro gives the fabric a more dramatic and sexy feel.

These are my favourite looks from the SS15 catwalk. Hope you enjoy them :)

Trend Alert SS15 - Pockets

Pictures: style.com
Military and workwear seems to be the inspiration for one of the big trends this season - gorgeous pockets. They come with details such as the vest from Dries Van Noten and the jacket from Marc Jacobs or oversized taking the lead role of the garment. They are perfectly placed on the surface giving the garment a fun approach and they are practical as well :) Who needs a bag when you have the pockets, right !?

See you soon :)

Trend Report SS15- Eylets

Pictures: style.com
Happy Midweek! Today's SS15 Trend is all about the fun and original detail eylet. With its round shape and hollow form this detail adds a great contras to the garment and the total look. It makes you show a little bit of skin as well as it gives a rock-ish vibe to a feminine garment.

See you soon :)

Trend Report S/S 2015 - Flared

I think it's hard to have missed that the flared trousers have taken over this spring. Small flares, big flares in long or short versions. The looks are focused around the flared pants. Use them with flats or with platforms and for that extra seventies feeling a belt in the waist.

See you soon :)

Trend Report S/S15 - Fringes

Pictures: style.com
Rainy and windy Saturdays are perfect for being at home taking care of things that I don't have time to do during the week such as the fun task of cleaning :( I must say that that's probably the most boring thing to do on my list and it takes such a long time! Well it's just you to get to it because you more I think about it the less I feel like it. As a side task I'm baking bread with carrots and sunflowers, really good :)

Well today's as you understand is all about those gorgeous fringes. They come in various variations from seventies inspired leather and suede stripes to homespun and fine shiny threads that adds movement to the garment. My favourites are the looks about with a handcrafted laid-back sense to them making me long for the spring and warmer temperatures. I would love to find myself a suede or leather midi skirt with exaggerated long fringes that almost touches the ground and I I said I have a DIY project pending of adding some on the hem of one of my jeans.

Happy Saturday!
